The Long Light
A new departure for music that I feel is just a bit to ambient to sit alongside the work I have done as The Glimmer Room. Although in my mind there is no real divide between the two, for me I am still exploring and expressing the same things but I felt it was probably better to draw a line between them both.
The Long Light is you on a day when nothing really matters. Those days you are free from the grind, days you embrace the rising sun and bathe in its warmth, existing carefree until the opposite horizon claims her for itself.
The first Long Light album ‘Our Waking Hours’ is the soundtrack to days like this. A true ambient album and one which is already drawing favourable comparisons to works such as Brian Eno’s Discrete Music and also Harold Budd’s minimal piano pieces.
Released, but as collaboration with the listener, the idea being that you choose your day for your reasons. Start it with the first track and end it with the second, in between which you find something to share that day, A photograph, a piece of text or anything that you feel encapsulates your day. These will extend the work online.
